You Make Life Happen, You Don't Tarry For Fate
C'mon! Do you think I'll ever forget you? Eww, no! I was gathering data and other great content for you. Only you, you only, is my heartbeat and heartfelt.
I have missed you so much & I don't even know where to start from. Thank you for your wishes, I'm so grateful for them all. I feel so fly, perhaps I should get a broom from Hogwarts.
Kidding! You don't need to squeeze your face, brah
You know, let's write a quick play and get into today's dealing. Winks.
The stage is set.
A baby is born. He grew up in a wretched village where they could hardly afford three square meals. The nearest school is a 3 hours trek to his house. When he starts Schooling, he'll wake up by 4 am and trek till he gets to school.
One day, he stumbled on an anthology in the muddy library. He read through it and was astonished by J.P Clark's Àbíkú poem. He could relate very well because back home, there's a woman who is popularly known for stigmatization of Àbíkú children.
When he got home, he began to write about everything he could think of. He wrote so much about his love for lizards, his love for the blacksmith's daughter, and his love for food.
A year later, he saw a call for writers. Believing in his works which have grown over the years, he submitted a notebook of his poems. He didn't make the first position but he got more accolades and scholarships due to his background.
Light out.
In my conversation with Ìdòwú Ọdẹ́yẹmí, (PhD, University of Boulder, USA) on June 25, 2022, he said one of the profound statements,
"and when i say grace, I'm not talking about the divine orchestrated grace, I'm saying that I've been able to position myself in front of opportunities & this is why I have excelled in my career.
Thinking about this morning, I think one of the greatest disservices you can do for yourself is waiting for everything to happen automatically.
Earlier this month, I read the Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale, and an important note I got from it is that We must control our thinking. It's funny how this sounds like we've known it our entire life yet it seems like we can hardly show results for it.
There's always opportunity in everything. It doesn't come but once, it's there always, what you need to do is to stop seeing and start looking.
Every day we see a lot of things; information, ladies, men, videos, fights or even cars but we rarely look. When you look, you're doing it with a purpose but when you see, you're doing it for pleasure.
Take a deep breath and think of all the statuses you saw yesterday, the videos you saw, and the comments you saw and try recounting 20 of them.
Now take another deep breath and think about the information you were deeply interested in, and recount what you learn.
After these exercises, what do you get?
Am I against pleasure? No!
What I'm saying is that you have to dig up the well to have water, you can't expect fountains everywhere.
In the question of fate, does it exist? Yes. Fate comes to those who either prepare or don't. Even the scripture says work and pray. This means you must get your mind into the grind before praying. You don't sit in your bed and wait for life to happen to you because 74 prophets have prayed for you.
You make things happen. You look for answers. Your solution isn't necessarily a ground-shifting idea, it might be what people see every day but don't take cognizance of. Umbrella looks simple but it's someone's idea. The screen wiper looks so simple, but it's from someone's sketch.
Every solution comes from thinking, and not from a branded idea called "I am the solution, use me."
You can be a world-class leader, you can be a top-rated writer, you can be anything you want to be, you have to get comfortable with thinking.
I'm wrapping up with Earl Nightingale, Men don't think.
Is it true?
Don't get it mixed up, you're still my G. And I still look forward to hearing from you. Shoot me that direct mail, message me on WhatsApp, let me know what you think, let me know what I have said wrong and you'll like to correct, or what I've said right that you'll like to comment on.
